Nel dopoguerra, anche a causa della chiusura dello stabilimento di Portoferraio, molti Capoliveresi preferirono emigrare verso l'Australia, come i loro avi mezzo secolo prima, con la stessa speranza di un lavoro e di una vita migliore. |
