Ex-Caserma
De Laugier, oggi centro culturale.
Antico convento cinquecentesco, ha subito molte trasformazioni durante
i secoli, per poi assumere il suo attuale aspetto divenendo una
caserma agli inizi dell'800 al tempo dell'occupazione francese.
Restaurata recentemente ospita la collezione di dipinti, stampe,
disegni e mobili di varie epoche, del collezionista ed erudito Mario
Foresi, donata al Municipio e presentata nel 1924. Comprende dipinti
e sculture del XVI-XIX secolo, e anche opere più recenti
raccolte dal Comune. Da segnalare la sezione ottocentesca e il Ritratto
della Colbrand di J. L. David.
Oggi, Centro Culturale e Congressuale intitolato a Cesare De Laugier,
ufficiale napoleonico di madre portoferraiese, eroe di Curtatone
e Montanara, offre un' ampia sala congressi (circa 250 posti) dotata
di sistema audio e video, e ina sala espositiva.

Situato nel centro storico
di Portoferraio, si raggiunge attraverso la Salita Napoleone, lunga
e caratteristica scalinata in pietra rosa.

Ex-Kaserne
De Laugier, heute Kulturzentrum.
Antikes Kloster erbaut Mitte 1500, welches während
der Jahrhunderte oft verändert wurde, um dann seinen aktuellen
Aspekt zu erhalten, nachdem es Anfang 1.800, während der französischen
Besetzung zur Kaserne wurde.
Vor wenigen Jahren restauriert beherbergt das Zentrum heute eine
bedeutende Sammlung von Gemälden, Drucken, Zeichnungen und
Möbeln verschiedener Epochen, die der Gemeinde 1924 vom Sammler
Mario Foresi, gestiftet wurde. Die Sammlung beinhaltet Gemälde
und Skulpturen des XVI-XIX Jahrhunderts, sowie auch neuere Werke
die von der Gemeinde hinzugefügt wurden. Heute Kultur- und
Kongresszentrum, benannt nach Cesare De Laugier, Offizier Napoleons,
bietet es einen großen Saal für Kongresse (ca. 250 Plätze),
der mit Audio-Video System ausgestattet ist, sowie einen Ausstellungssaal.
Das Zentrum liegt im Herzen der Altstadt von Portoferraio, und man
erreicht es über die Salita Napoleone, eine lange charakteristische
Treppe aus rosafarbenem Gestein.

Former-barracks
De Laugier, today cultural center.
Ancient monastery built in the middle of 1500, which was
often transformed during the centuries, in order to receive its
current aspect, after it became barracks at the beginning of 1,800,
while French occupation.
A few years ago restored, the center accommodates today an important
collection of paintings, pressures, designs and furniture of different
epochs, which where donated the municipality 1924 by the collectionist
Mario Foresi. The collection contains paintings and sculptures of
the XVI-XIX century, as well as recently works which were added
by the municipality.
Today culture and congress center, named after Cesare De Laugier,
officer of Napoleon, it offers a large hall for congresses (approx.
250 places), equipped with audio video the systems, as well as an
exhibition hall.
The center is situated in the heart of the old part of town of Portoferraio,
and one reaches it by means of the Salita Napoleone, long characteristic
stairs from rosa colored rock.
