As
before approximately 200 years the exploitation of the ore pits diminished
noticeably, many of the inhabitants of Rio nell'Elba changed
to Rio Marina. In the course of the decades the meaning of the port
of Rio Marina grew more for it was more central and more near with
the iron mines than the one of Cavo.
The entrance of the former iron mine is only few hundred meters far
away from the northern local edge. Today one can participate
in guidance by the former mine area.
In addition there is a mineral museum in the place. |
