IL LAVATOIO PUBBLICO

Il lavatoio pubblico di Rio Elba è oggi perfettamente restaurato e fruibile alle visite grazie anche ad una esauriente ricostruzione storica presentata con immagini e didascalie.
È alimentato con l'acqua di sorgente che è stata così importante per il paese.
Rio Elba deve il suo nome, infatti, al rio che raccoglie le acque delle numerose sorgenti che lo alimentano e che hanno permesso nei secoli passati la costruzione e l'uso dei numerosi mulini ad acqua di cui si possono ancora vedere i resti.

DAS ÖFFENTLICHE WASCHHAUS

Das öffentliche Waschhaus in Rio nell'Elba wurde komplett restauriert und kann besichtigt werden. Im Inneren finden sich eine Ausstellung historischer Fotos aus der Vergangenheit.
Das Waschhaus wird vom Quellwasser gespeist, welches schon in der Vergangenheit von großer Wichtigkeit für den Ort war.
Der Name “Rio nell'Elba” geht darauf zurück, dass sich hier die Wasser zahlreicher Quellen vereinigten. Das erlaubte in der Vergangenheit den Bau verschiedener Wassermühlen entlang des Wasserlaufes. Von einigen sind die Reste noch heute zu sehen.
