In passato era un villaggio di pescatori che si estendeva lungo la vasta baia sabbiosa. Oggi è il centro principale del comune di Campo nell'Elba e la sua spiaggia, la più lunga dell'isola, è tra le più frequentate nella stagione estiva.
Sull'estremità occidentale della baia di Marina di Campo si erge la Torre Cilindrica costruita come sistema di difesa, probabilmente, durante la dominazione pisana.

Ein ehemaliges Fischerdorf, welches sich in der Vergangenheit längs des sandigen Golfes erstreckte. Heute ist Marina di Campo, und der lange Strand, einer der längsten der Insel, ist im Sommer einer der am meisten besuchten Strände Elba's. Am westlichen Ende des Golfes erhebt sich der zylindrische Turm, wahrscheinlich während der Pisanischen Herrschaft als Wehrturm erbaut.

 

In past it was a village of fishermen that extended along the immense sandy bay. Today, Marina di Campo it is the main center of the common one of Campo nell' Elba and the its beach, longest of the island, is the most attended in the summer season. On the western extremity of the bay of Marina di Campo rises the  Cylindrical Tower constructed probably, as it arranges of defense, during the Pisanian domination.
