Situated in the ex former barracks de Laugier, great building
of the V century, placed in the historical center of Portoferraio,
comprises a homogenous nucleus of paintings, press miniature and
furnishings from the XVI to XIX the century, donated in 1814 to
Common from the intellectual and man of letters Mario Foresi. Opened
to the public for the first time in 1924, united to the foresiana
Library, on the last floor of the communal Palace, it has been transferred
during the war in the Galleria Demidoff, near the napoleonic residence
of San Martino where they are always today exposed some paintings.
