This antiquity Oratory was built in the year 1570
on behalf of the prince von Piombino, and dedicated to the protecting
one from the plague. Little after is added to the title of S.Marco
because the little church it was goal of the praiing with processione
and blessing of the mines that were made every year on April 25.
This tradition has been respected until 1890. In the 1830 building
it is magnified to expenses of the Community of Rio, but after some
year it is reduced to warehouse of the mines.
In 1851 it still turns out used like warehouse, but subordinate
to new jobs of restructure and widening will come that of it will
alter definitively the original shape, and therefore given back
to the religious cult. It becomes center of the brotherhoods of
SS. Sacramento and of SS. Rocco and S. Marco. From 1856 and until
1934 it accommodates the parish of S.Barbara.
