Le Ghiaie: easy to reach by car, less easily to find a Parking, before one drives direction city centre Portoferraio, goes on the left of an avenue off with the reference Le Ghiaie. At this wonderful beach composed of the beautiful white smoothly of the sea polished gravels, closed by are also the public garden plants, where one finds also shade in the hot season and where exists a playground for children. The sea section lying before this beach included the Scoglietto (the pre-aged rock with the lighthouse) belong since 1971 to biological protected zone therefore the rich sea flora and fauna in this zone invite to diving excursions, of course it is forbidden to fish.
In addition there is a Bar, Restaurants and a bathing establishment. The beach can be attained also with the public bus.
